Careers

We are where we're going. And Knox graduates go far. Really far.

With its focus on critical, independent thought, a liberal arts education from Knox will prepare you for a successful career in a wide variety of fields. Go anywhere in the U.S. or around the world and you'll find Knox alumni working in top positions in business, management, education and research, community service, and many other occupations.

Among our graduates:

  • Carol Craig '89 used the skills she learned through Knox's 3-2 program in engineering, to establish her career with the Department of Defense, as the Navy's first woman aviator in her P-3 Orion squadron, and to grow her aerospace consulting company from one employee to more than 140 in the last 10 years.
  • Alan Anderson '56 , professor of philosophy and religion at Western Kentucky University, was a pioneer in opposing the American color line. He organized Martin Luther King's 1965 visit to segregated neighborhoods in Chicago, resulting in a march of 25,000 people against the segregated school system.
  • David A. Schulz '74, Attorney and Partner, Levine Sullivan Koch & Schulz, LLP, New York, New York, represented major print and television news organizations including The New York Times and the Associated Press in cases involving access, Freedom of Information, libel, privacy and copyright.
  • William Colby '77, senior fellow, law and patient rights, with the Center for Practical Bioethics in Kansas City, is the lawyer who represented the family of Nancy Cruzan in their family's right-to-die case, the first such case to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court.
