Educational Centers

Educational CentersAt Knox, we take pride in an expansive and intellectually invigorating academic program and a culture of hands-on learning and involvement in campus and community life for both students and faculty. We expect a lot from you, and we will challenge you in every classroom to broaden your horizons both intellectually and socially.

To give you the tools and support you need to succeed in your academic careers, Knox has established a group of educational centers to provide information, resources, and faculty guidance to help you access and navigate the range of opportunities at the College. These centers combine academic and co-curricular programs to help you get the most from your classroom studies and campus life.

Center for Research and Advanced Study
(Opening January 2010) Coordinates a range of programs that support advanced research work in the natural and social sciences, humanities, and creative and performing arts, connecting students with opportunities for undergraduate and post-graduate research.
Center for Global Studies
The Center for Global Studies strives to bring an understanding of the complex, multi-faceted process of globalization to the Knox community by sponsoring speakers and other on-campus initiatives as well as facilitating off-campus and overseas study programs.
Center for Teaching and Learning
With the motto "Nurturing Excellence," the Center provides support for students in academic counseling and course selection, learning and studying skills, peer tutoring and support in improving writing, language and math skills.
Center for Intercultural Life
The broad diversity of cultural backgrounds of Knox students and faculty come together in the Center for Intercultural Life, which runs the College's diversity-themed housing, and helps organize major annual diversity events including the popular International Fair. The Center also provides assistance for international students, helping with everything from visas to housing and tax issues.
Center for Community Service
Building on Knox's long history of community involvement by students and faculty, the Center facilitates service and volunteer efforts and events, both ongoing and by assisting with new projects pitched by students.
Center for Career and Pre-Professional Development
With an eye toward life after graduation, the Center provides counseling and resources to help students prepare for their academic or professional life, and strengthening connections between students, faculty, alumni and employers.
