MacMurray took an early lead when Ashley Jenkins put a shot behind Knox goalkeeper Alex Rauland (Germany; Frankfurt International School) for the first goal of the game in the 14th minute. Knox would have an answer before halftime, when freshman sensation Arielle Dorman (Bothell, WA; Inglemoor) took the pass from sophomore Emma Swanson (Des Moines, IA; Valley) and beat the MacMurray goalkeeper to tie the score up at 1-1 in the 33rd minute.
Though MacMurray would once again ‘fire out of the starting block' and add another goal at the beginning of the second half, this time on Miracle Bell's shot that found the back of the net in the 51st minute. However, the game would be all Prairie Fire offense from that point forward. Ten minutes later the Prairie Fire would take the lead 3-2, with Dorman and Swanson connecting for the second time of the game, with Dorman scoring her 6th goal of the season in only seven games.
