On her own senior night, a night in which her four years of service to the Prairie Fire volleyball team and Knox College athletic department were to be honored, senior Karen Frost continued to do what she has done her entire career: set up her teammates to score points. Coming into yesterday's 2009 home finale, Frost needed 25 assists to move into 3rd place all time in Prairie Fire history for career assists. Frost did more than that, collecting 36 assists in a 4 set, 3-1 win over Eureka College.
Frost now has 1501 career assists, surpassing Alicia Young '02 (1489 assists) for 3rd place all time. Frost has her work cut out for her if she is to move to second place before the season is over, as Allison Yasukawa '01 is comfortably 263 assists ahead, with 1764 career assists.
With 3 matches remaining Frost will continue to add to her already impressive assists total on Saturday October 24th, when the Prairie Fire travel to Beloit, Wisconsin to take on the Beloit College Buccaneers. The start time is 1pm and the game will be broadcast on www.midwestconference.tv
