
The women's tennis team is among the most successful sports programs in the history of Knox. Prairie Fire players are regularly ranked in the Midwest Region of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and consistently battle at the top of the conference standings.
The Midwest Conference announced the 2009 Fall Academic All-Midwest Conference honorees on December 2, 2009. 30 Knox Student-Athletes were honored. In order for a student-athlete to be honored the athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 while lettering in any of the MWC fall sports.

Rachel Clark, a sophomore from Newton, IA (Newton High School), has been named Knox College Prairie Fire Performer of the Week after leading the Prairie Fire tennis team to their first win of the season, defeating rival Monmouth College 5-4 on September 17th.
The Prairie Fire women's tennis team returns its top four singles players from a year ago, in hopes of bettering last seasons record while looking to begin its ascension amongst the top teams in the Midwest Conference.
