Family and Friends Weekend

Great times at Knox!

Thanks to all who attended this year's Family & Friends Weekend! We estimate that well over 300 families were on campus for the weekend, and it was wonderful to meet so many of you.   

Next year's Family and Friends Weekend will take place the weekend of October 8 -10, 2010. Some hotels may allow you to book accommodations now; check out our accommodations list for Galesburg hotel locations.

Curious about what happens at Family and Friends Weekend? Here are the activities that took place during Family and Friends Weekend 2009:

Friday

9:20 a.m. - 3:50 p.m. Family members are allowed to attend certain Knox classes that are open to visitors. A class list will be posted in Fall 2010.  

4 - 6 p.m. Welcome Center Check-in. Pick up final schedule and visit with other families and friends.

Evening options included campus lectures,  Prairie Fire Volleyball, and a One Act Play.

Saturday

Morning: Welcome Center Check-in. Pick up your final schedule and talk with other parents, faculty, and staff.  

Parent sessions on Saturday morning: Meet the Knox Administration, Student Development Roundtable, Getting Your Student off the Family Payroll, Study Abroad programs.

Other activities: Women's Chorale Concert, Tours of the Old Jail,  Women's Tennis

Afternoon:  Prairie Fire Volleyball, Prairie Fire Football,  Parents' Drop in with the Dean of Students, Student Research Presentations, Havdallah Celebration.

Evening:  One Act Play, Evening of Dance and Jazz.

Sunday - open to enjoy some quality time with your student!

Note: The Spoon River Drive and Knox County Scenic Drive will also be the same weekend as Family and Friends Weekend next year.
