Pi Beta Phi, the first fraternity for women, was founded at Monmouth College in 1867 by 12 women who valued the ideals of good scholarship, sisterhood, and high moral and social conduct. The Illinois Beta Delta Pi Phis at Knox are outstanding academically, socially and athletically. Pi Phis are involved in a wide variety of organizations and activities on campus including the Knox College Choir, jazz bands, Mortar Board, Student Senate, tutoring, Habitat for Humanity, and many others.
